The University of Connecticut announced Tuesday that UConn assistant coach Kevin Oillie will join Arizona State as a head coach.
Oill, the son of former UConn quarterback Joe Ollies, will join ASU as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.
He will also serve as the quarterbacks coach at Northern Iowa.
Oll has spent the past four seasons as offensive coordinator for the Huskies.
Oill was the offensive and quarterbacks coordinator at the University of Houston from 2015-17 and spent the last four seasons with the Houston Cougars.
OILL will join the ASU staff for his first season.
He was previously the quarterbacks coordinator and the quarterbacks and tight ends coach at UTEP from 2012-14.
He spent last season as offensive director at the UTEP Wolf Pack.
Oll will become the third UConn football coach to become a head football coach in his first two seasons.
The Huskies had three other previous head coaches who also worked as offensive coordinators in their first two years: Kevin Wilson, Bob Davie and Todd Graham.
Oell has spent his career in the UConn program and he was the first assistant to replace Rich Rodriguez as head coach of the Husky football team in 1999.
He served as offensive line coach from 2005-07 and as receivers coach from 2008-12.
