Amazon and Google are teaming up to create a new ebook reader called Kindle Prime that will launch in 2018.
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos said the new device will offer a new type of reading experience with Amazon Prime Instant Video and a new kind of entertainment experience with the company’s original movies.
Amazon Prime Instant Videos will be delivered over the internet, and users can enjoy all kinds of exclusive content and videos for a discounted price, according to Bezos.
Amazon and YouTube are also partnering to launch their own streaming video service that will be a full-fledged subscription service that offers video content like Prime Video, Amazon Video Unlimited and YouTube Red.
Amazon has been investing heavily in its online video offering since the release of its original Prime Video last year.
In a statement, Bezos said that the new Kindle Prime will offer the same high quality and value as the original Kindle with a greater selection of Amazon books, video, and music.
Amazon said the device will be available in six colors, with an Amazon logo in the front, and will be priced at $299.
Amazon’s announcement came just days after Amazon released its new Kindle line, the Kindle Fire HD, in November.
